RE: [Worship] Expressive Praise & Worship

I suggest encouraging everyone to express their love for Jesus as openly
and vibrantly as they would other things they are excited about from
ball games to children doing well as something, to finding out someone
they love loves them back. That encourages people to celebrate to their
fullest within their own personal boundaries. But in the same breathe
you would need to also challenge others to not judge their neighbors for
the way in which they choose to fulfill that expression, One will dance,
another sit quietly resting in the glory of the Lord, another smiling &
praising vocally with raised hands but not dancing about. Each must be
as welcome to express joy quietly as the others are to express loudly,
without either being judged by another man's standards.

Just thoughts. And for Biblical refs' see Doug Simmers "Biblical
Principles of Worship Expression" at http://worship.crossway.org (scroll
down). It was a six month sermon series in 1997 that has become the most
read and quoted 'unpublished' literature on this subject in the world.
Its free online, but copyrighted against anyone else publishing it. This
resource will be published early 2004 by demand.

I was wondering this list's opinion on encouraging worship team members
and the congregation alike in expressive praise & worship like the
raising of hands, clapping, etc.
