RE: [Worship] What would you like a pastor to teach on worship?

I am kind of late to the dance but...

I would say two things are very important to have on the list.

One is to explain the concept of plugging in with what ever style the
service has. If you rock or polka, it does not matter. God is still the
same and He is worthy of our full attention. The important point is to
worship as God deserves to be worshipped. Rick Warrens book Purpose Driven
Life starts by saying "It's not about you..." It's not about me or you,
it's about God only! If you worship to be seen you are worshipping yourself
not God and if you are singing along as the band drags you from song to
song, you are not worshipping. If you are giving God your full attention
and he is in the front of your mind, you are plugging in.

Second, The pastor's mouth is the least important part of teaching. I as a
worship leader could do anything and people will watch and go, "Coooollll!"
but is the pastor starts to do what I have been doing for months, the sheep
follow. My point is that the pastor's actions are about 90% of the
teaching. You can say all you want about opening our eyes and hearts,
raising your hands, dancing, ... but what he takes the lead and starts to
walk the walk, that is when things start to change.

God Bless!!!
