[Worship] RE: Urgent Song request

While I agree with the appropriateness and timeliness of songs, the point
was that the request came far too late. While pulling off last minute, fly
by the seat of our pants songs can be done (pretty well with a team that has
been working together for a while), it's not something that should occur
with any frequency. It sets up for stress, extra work, etc. I'd have to
agree with Michael on this one, though I don't know the situation behind the
request. Was the service planned last minute? Did the pastor get information
last minute? Should the pastor have known that the songs were desired a week
ago? I think Michael's point was that pastors should be aware that last
minute song requests are generally not easy to accomplish (especially when
the WL is working a "day job").
