I probably wouldn't want someone on my team with your perspective,
either, especially in a leadership position.
Unless you have a pretty unique job description, your job isn't to
second guess the decisions of the person you're working under or to
judge their leadership style, but rather, to support the leader and help
accomplish a specific role in helping them move toward a goal that you
have not selected.
The hard part is when a leader makes choices that are difficult to
follow, especially when there are gaps of understanding in the mix.
If their leadership style isn't one you can work under, that's a
significant issue. It reveals problems on both sides. Your job isn't
going to be changing the other person. It looks like there are a lot of
issues behind this, not just communication. Probably more to the point
is the desire to be a leader and feeling passed over.
You're obviously not supportive of the direction the pastor is taking
things. Your job isn't to figure out if he's right or not. It's to
decide how committed you are to continuing the call you used to think
God had on your life and support the worship ministry at that church. Or
are you going to walk because the cloud isn't moving into the kind of
land that you prefer? Maybe this is the time for you to learn the lesson
of Joshua and Caleb.
Yes, this could cause division in the groups - and you play a key role
in that.
