Hi,

A few things struck me about these last few posts on this thread. I
find it mildly amusing, and at the same time a little distressing that
we seen determined as a human race to try and define worship. Worship
is not a destination, it is a state of being and as such is beyond our
understanding. Red flags should go up in our spirit any time we get
close to telling others "how it is with God". Once we do that we step
out of the realm of faith into understanding, and that whole knowledge
of good and evil thing.

To my way of thinking, worship happened long before our proteins got
together and will continue long past their decay. Worship is something
that simply is. I am not sure, but I do not think the clouds or the
ocean or the plants or animals or birds or anything else on this planet
need to be told what worship is. They worship and bring glory to the
Father simply because they are! Likewise we worship the Father just by
being us! In all our sin and hate, in all our pride and fear, in all
our weakness and humanity, we point to Him and glorify the works of His
hands by default. There is an intrinsic value placed on everyone of us
because we bring glory to the Father. We are the work of His hands, and
we are wonderfully and fearfully made. We are not wonderfully and
fearfully made after we sing 2 fast songs and 3 slow. :)

In terms of the church worship thing, man what a quagmire. I think the
ONLY one who can determine if what is happening is truly worship, is
the one being worshiped! The fact that the church has assumed the role
of judging that can only mean one thing, the church is the one being
worshiped.

So dance and sing. Cap and shout. Weep and kneel. Bark like a dog. Swim
like a fish. Cry like a child. In everything you do praise the Lord -
for only He is worthy, and only He can tell you if it is good. :)

Blessings!
